"Portlanders have a powerful emotional connection to our region that differentiates us from other communities. I support .pdx because it can showcase the entrepreneurs, companies, individuals, organizations, ideas and movements that represent Portland’s passion and positive energy."

Watch what Portlanders have to say about .pdx
.pdx is an exemplar of Greater Portland's independent spirit
Our region is a shining example of innovation. There are more patents per capita than almost anywhere in the west--including San Francisco, Seattle, Denver and LA. There are more public wi-fi spaces per capita than any major western market outside the bay area. The rate of blogging and Twittering is among the highest in the country. We are a society of independent thinkers.
Our economy is balanced and growing. Gross regional product is forecast to grow nearly 30% in the next five years--outpacing nearly every western city. Top sectors include trade/ transportation, professional services, and manufacturing. The high tech gross regional product is 81% higher than the national average. In 2008, Money named Portland the 6th best city to launch a new business.
There are many reasons to be proud of what Greater Portland stands for. With .pdx, we will be one of the first cities in the US to have our own online real estate. Please visit our Sponsorship section if you'd like to help with funding. If you are an individual, simply contact us to join the petition, ask a question, stay updated, and make .pdx a reality!
